Renowned Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has achieved a significant milestone with her latest movie, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’. According to a report by Legit.ng, the film, which Akindele dedicated to her late mother during its premiere, has set a new record in the Nigerian film industry.
In a recent update shared on social media, Akindele, a mother of two, posted the movie’s promotional flyer, which highlighted the film’s impressive box office performance. The flyer revealed that ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ has grossed N854 million, making it the highest-grossing movie in the history of Nigerian cinema. Expressing her gratitude, Akindele thanked the Nigerian audience for their support and attributed the film’s success to divine intervention, as noted in her caption.
Remarkably, the movie achieved a substantial portion of its earnings in a short span, grossing N613 million within just three weeks of its premiere in December. This rapid success underscores the film’s exceptional reception among moviegoers and its significant impact on Nollywood.
