A man has called off his wedding and called it quits with his fiancée some days to their wedding after the latter insisted on a luxurious wedding that cost a total of N17 million. Sharing his story in an anonymous text to Twitter influencer Wizarab, he indicated it was his fiancée insisting on having such an expensive wedding that was what tipped him over the edge. To him, spending such a large sum of money on the wedding felt like a waste and something he didn’t want to do.
The situation compelled him to call off the wedding and break up with the girl. In a shocking move, he migrated to Singapore, leaving his would-be bride in the village. Despite efforts by the woman’s family to reach out to him and patch things up, he has refused to pick their calls, vowing to move on with his life.
He said, “I have called it off, and my dad supports me, saying he stands with whatever decision I make. Her family has been calling me to resolve issues, but I’m not taking their calls.”
