Waitress Quits Lekki Hotel After Being Ordered to Jog for Not Addressing Owner Respectfully

A Nigerian waitress has publicly criticized her former employer after leaving her job at a well-known hotel in Ikota Lekki, notorious for its club scene. The waitress, known as @rosemarydinero1 on TikTok, recounted an incident where the hotel owner demanded she jog around the hotel three times as punishment for failing to address him with the title “sir.”

Rosemary expressed her frustration over the treatment she and her colleagues endured, despite generating significant revenue for the hotel. She described the working conditions as akin to slavery, highlighting the contrast between the hotel’s earnings and the modest salary of N25,000 paid to the staff. Through her TikTok post, Rosemary voiced her hope that others who experienced similar treatment would come forward to share their stories.

In her message, she emphasized the need for workers at the hotel to have the courage to speak out against the harsh working conditions they faced, urging them to share their experiences to prevent further injustices.
