Super Eagles Coach Discusses Team Goals as They Approach the Knockout Stage

Following a 1-0 victory over Guinea Bissau in the last Group A match on Monday, January 22, Peseiro addressed the media in a post-match conference. He acknowledged that the team missed several scoring opportunities, attributing it to their strategy of reserving goals for the upcoming rounds.

While acknowledging that striker Victor Osimhen wasn’t at his best in the match, Peseiro expressed satisfaction with the team’s advancement to the next stage. Reflecting on the tough match, the Portuguese coach noted the four missed opportunities but remained optimistic, saying, “I believe we kept our goals for the next round; we will definitely work on our finishing ahead of our next match. For the next match, if you score goals, you proceed to the next round.”
