Nine Final-Year Students Expelled from UNILORIN for Examination Malpractice

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), located in Kwara State, took disciplinary action on Monday, February 19, by expelling 14 students for alleged misconduct and involvement in examination malpractices. According to The Punch, Kunle Akogun, the university’s director of corporate affairs, announced this decision in a statement.

The names of nine expelled students were listed in the university’s weekly bulletin, as reported by Vanguard. The expulsion was authorized by the Vice Chancellor following the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee during its 219th meeting on January 10 and 11, 2024, according to the bulletin.

Among the expelled were seven final-year students from various departments, with the remaining two students at the 300 and 100 levels respectively, as reported by Leadership.

Kuranga Abdulmuiz Olalekan,Fac./Dept: Agriculture/Agricultural Extension and Rural Development 500 Level.
Adebisi Janet Bosede Fac./Dept: Arts/Linguistics and Nigerian Languages 100 Level.
Ogundijo Abdulmalik Akinkunmi Fac./Dept: CIS/Library and Information Science 500 Level.

Also affected are:

Ashekun Oladiji Quadri Fac./Dept:CIS/ Telecommunication Science 400 Level.
Eqwudah Lucky Ojonumba Fac./Dept: Education /Adult and Primary Education Studies 300 Level.
Musa Mohammed Asuku Fac./Dept: Engr and Tech/Electrical and Electronic Engineering 500 Level.
