Egoras Technology, a Nigerian transportation solutions company, recently introduced the Egora Dual-Fuel Tricycle. This innovation was announced by the company’s CEO, Ugoji Harry, as a response to the challenges posed by the recent removal of fuel subsidies in Nigeria. The tricycle, designed to be both cost-effective and environmentally friendly, operates on petrol and liquified gas, offering an eco-friendly alternative for transportation in both urban and rural settings.
The Egora Dual-Fuel Tricycle is noted for its dual functionality, allowing it to run on multiple fuel types. It also features a user-friendly design that simplifies maintenance for operators. According to a report by Punch, Harry highlighted the vehicle’s robustness and reliability, as well as its impressive technical specifications. He stated, “With a robust 10 horsepower engine, it delivers a combination of strength and efficiency. The tricycle’s top speed of 60kmph further underscores its capability, offering users a swift and dependable mode of transportation.”
Harry assured that the vehicle has undergone rigorous testing to meet safety standards and industry specifications, ensuring a secure transportation option for users and pedestrians. He emphasized the company’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s transportation sector, viewing the launch of this vehicle as a critical step towards that goal.
Additionally, Egoras Technology offers fleet management services to assist owners in managing their vehicles effectively. This development aligns with the Nigerian government’s initiatives to transition to cleaner alternative fuel sources. It coincides with the introduction of CNG-powered vehicles across the country by various Nigerian companies, including Innoson Motors, which has released several CNG-powered buses following the removal of petrol subsidies.
In a related development, Legit.ng reported that Oando Clean Energy plans to introduce 12,000 electric buses nationwide. This initiative, announced by the company’s Executive Vice President, Ademola Ogunbanjo, during a presentation in Dubai on November 6, 2023, is part of Nigeria’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2060, in line with global climate change objectives.
