The story came to light through a tweet, which popped up on X, formerly Twitter, by a user going by the handle @alaya_001 this Wednesday, August 28. The post had an attachment of Dankode holding the recovered dollar bills. According to @alaya_001, Dankode found this money while doing his usual cleaning duties and immediately brought the matter to the attention of his company’s manager. This timely intervention would pave the way for an immediate search for the actual owner of the money.

The tweet by the netizen read: “This boy, one Auwal Ahmed Dankode, who works with the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), while cleaning the plane, found $10,000-approximately 16 million Naira-inside the plane. Being aware of the money, Auwal immediately reported it to the manager of the airline company in order to start searching for the rightful owner. The incident had taken place at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport. Auwal, from Kode in Kano State, is noted for his strong fear of God, coupled with his honesty.
