JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has announced a new policy holding UTME candidates accountable for their parents’ misconduct during the exam. In an interview with The Punch, Oloyede explained that candidates will face consequences if their parents disrupt the examination process.
He recounted an incident where parents attempted to halt exams due to a minor technical issue, resulting in session delays and subsequent rearrangement. Expressing dismay at such behavior, Oloyede emphasized that any center allowing parental interference would be delisted. Furthermore, he stressed the need to identify both parent and candidate for appropriate sanctions.
Oloyede emphasized the importance of ensuring that candidates do not suffer due to their parents’ actions, condemning such behavior as detrimental to the exam process and the futures of other students.
