Girl’s WAEC Result Goes Viral as She Aims to Study Medicine at University

Seraphina Somadina Madukwe’s outstanding WAEC exam scores in 2024 have caught people’s eye online. Even though she did great in school, Seraphina isn’t sure what’s next. Her dad might not have enough money to send her to university.

Seraphina, a 16-year-old student at Experience Model Secondary School in Aba, Abia State, scored top marks in all nine WAEC subjects. She got eight A1 grades and one B3. Her best results include A1 grades in marketing, economics civic education general mathematics agricultural science, biology, chemistry, and physics. She received her lowest grade, a B3, in English language.

Despite her academic success, Seraphina’s dreams to study medicine and surgery face money troubles. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Ugwuja Benjamin shed light on the struggles Seraphina’s family deals with. He shared that her father sold his only generator to pay for her WAEC exam fees. The post shows a committed and hard-working family ready to give up things to support Seraphina’s schooling even though they don’t have much.

In his post, Benjamin wrote, “Seraphina Somadina Madukwe, a smart 16-year-old, needs help and has asked the internet. She wants to study medicine and surgery in college but isn’t sure if she’ll get in. Her dad sold his only generator to pay for her WAEC registration.” Seraphina said she got such good grades through hard work and God’s help. She still hopes she can keep studying, which she thinks will lead to a better future.

Her story strikes a chord with many people, and the post has gotten a lot of attention online. Many folks admire her drive and offer words of support.
