The selection process, supervised by Hajia Mansurat Amuda-Kainike, spokesperson for the Ministry of Tertiary Education, involved thorough screening of 27,314 applicants from all 16 local government areas in the state attending various tertiary institutions nationwide.

In an official statement, it was stated: “We have commenced the disbursement of the N10,000 bursary award to each of the successful applicants, graciously approved by His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.” The payments started on Wednesday, 27th March, and will continue until all disbursements are completed. The funds are being transferred directly to their accounts to ensure transparency and accountability. However, some successful applicants have incorrect account details, and they will be contacted for correction.

Additionally, the announcement revealed the distribution of 100,000 scholarship awards for the 2022/2023 academic session, directly benefiting 107 successful applicants from Kwara State studying law. This initiative, approved by the Governor, aims to bring joy to final-year Kwara natives in universities across the country.
