In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Ajayi, along with Sadiq Daba, was honored with the Industry Merit Award at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. Her passing on July 6, 2016, at her residence in Surulere, Lagos State, marked the end of a chapter in Nigerian entertainment.
