Breaking News: Oyo State Authorities Demolish Building Associated with Yoruba Nation Agitators in Ibadan, Video Circulates Widely on Social Media

The Oyo state government has demolished the building used by Yoruba Nation agitators, led by Modupe Onitiri-Abiola. Situated on Toye Oyesola street in Ibadan South West local government area, the demolition occurred on Wednesday, April 17, as reported by The Punch and The Nation.

The decision to demolish the building comes in the wake of Yoruba Nation agitators’ recent invasion of the Oyo state secretariat. Clad in military attire, the separatists allegedly attempted to seize control of the state house of assembly, prompting the government’s swift response.

This action by the Oyo government follows widespread condemnation of the Yoruba Nation agitators’ activities, particularly from groups in northern Nigeria, who accuse them of stoking ethnic tensions. While some political leaders in the southwest have criticized their actions, there has also been considerable support for the agitators within the region.
