Famed street-pop artist and performer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, recently stirred significant online reactions following a profound revelation about his personal life shared during an interview with Brooke Bailey. In a candid conversation, Portable led the show host to the original gravesite of his mother, where he had made the decision to exhume her remains and relocate them.
During the interview, Portable disclosed the heartbreaking reason behind his decision to move his mother’s body. He recounted how, upon being asked to visit his mother’s grave for prayers some years back, he discovered that the land where she was buried had been sold by her family. This left him denied access to pay his respects to his late mother.
The Sango-Otta native, renowned for his streetwise demeanor and outspoken nature, shed light on his lesser-known background. He revealed that he lost his mother at the tender age of 13 and faced the challenges of growing up with a father who struggled to provide for the family.
Portable shared that his desire to remain close to his mother motivated him to reclaim her remains and rebury her at his upcoming mansion in Sango, a decision reflective of his deep bond with her despite her physical absence.
