Abuja Residents Ransack NEMA Warehouse Amidst Hardship

In the midst of Nigeria’s economic challenges, residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, have stormed a warehouse owned by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). Located in Tasha, Karimo, Phase III area, the warehouse was breached on Sunday morning, March 3, according to reports from Vanguard newspaper and The Punch.

 

Sahara Reporters also shared a video of the looting, sparking a trending hashtag, ‘Hungry Nigerians’. Ibrahim Alfa, a resident, mentioned that the incident caused traffic jams on the Gwagwa-Karmo road, affecting routes to Dei-Dei and Jabi. Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT command, confirmed the incident, stating, “The situation is now under control.”
