In the latest 2024 rankings by Times Higher Education, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, emerged as Nigeria’s top state-owned university.
Following closely are Lagos State University, Ojo (LASU), and Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), securing second and third positions respectively. Despite their commendable rankings within Nigeria, both LAUTECH and LASU fall outside the top 1500 universities globally.
The rankings, which evaluated 1,904 universities across 108 countries and regions, employed performance indicators spanning teaching quality, research environment, research output, industry connections, and international outlook.
