Born Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, Nigerian singer, songwriter, and dancer Qing Madi is taking over social media with her debut concert in Uganda going extremely well. The show had been one of her biggest milestones in her career, being her first major concert since she blew up. According to popular Instagram blogger Tunde Ednut, the young singer made a fat N493 million, approximately $300,000 from her show in Uganda.
Tunde Ednut took to his Instagram, posting a video from the concert showing his shock about how much Qing Madi was paid. “Omo, Uganda get money. This girl don go far. They paid Qing Madi 300,000 dollars to perform. Correct me if I am wrong, but she should be the first 18-year-old getting paid this much and selling out her first show in Uganda,” he wrote. His comments went viral in no time as his fans and followers wondered how a young artist had such success in such a short period of time.
Qing Madi rose to fame back in 2022 with her single hit “See Finish,” followed by another hot single “Ole.” In a little over one year into the music fraternity, she has successfully made a name for herself on the international stage.
Celebrating the success of her Uganda concert, Qing Madi shared how many people shunned her from arranging the concert. Critics said it’s too early in her career to host a concert, let alone in a foreign country, and the ticket prices were too high for her fanbase to afford. However, this young singer didn’t lose her cool and trusted her talent and the already growing audience.
“I had my first concert in Uganda-the best day in my music life,” Qing Madi wrote on social media to show appreciation to God and her Ugandan fans who came in big numbers to make the event a success. “So many people discouraged me, saying it was too soon and that no one would come because the tickets were overpriced. But God did it!”
Such success at such a tender age speaks volumes about Qing Madi’s talent, perseverance, and, above all, her capability to connect with fans across borders, which solidifies her place as a rising star in the African music scene.
