A story of a 17-year-old boy from Saki, Oyo State, has been trending on social media due to his sterling performance in the WAEC examination. Waheed Muhammed Adeyemi, a student of Baptist Medical Centre Secondary School, came very strong as he made A1 in all the eight subjects he sat for. His sterling results include English Language, Geography, Civic Education, General Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Omo Akin shared the news regarding Waheed’s achievement on X, formerly Twitter, and hailed the boy for his zeal to succeed in academics. His post showed clearly that Waheed’s success was an outcome of his hard work and intellect only, with no special center or result manipulation involved.
Omo Akin called Waheed “a Yorùbá Excellence,” insisting that the young man’s feat was representative of a proper academic achievement. The post read, “Meet Waheed Muhammed Adeyemi, a 17-year-old boy from Saki, Oyo State, who aced all subjects in WAEC Examinations. No special centre. No result manipulation. No fraudulent act. Just a Yorùbá boy with a functioning brain.”.
The case of Waheed is such that tells the world of the great things that are achievable through dedication and the hard work it is bound to put a person into. His case is enough to show how big the potential borne by students across Nigeria is: that with patience and commitment, academic excellence is within reach.
Congratulations to Waheed on this stellar achievement! ✨
